ISO14001:1996 Environmental Management Systems details requirements for companies to manage environmentally sound operations, including the reduction of waste, energy and emissions to air, land and water.

 

EGR has been awarded certification to this standard. As part of the certification process, EGR implemented a range of procedures directed at reducing negative impacts on the environment, including the reduction of waste, energy and offsite impacts from its operations, the introduction of a comprehensive chemical management system, and the improvement of procedures and controls to reduce the potential for emissions to air, land and water.

EGR participated in the Federal Governments Greenhouse Challenge Plus program from 30/9/2003.

This Federal initiative helped reduce over 37million tonnes of carbon dioxide from Australia's greenhouse gas emissions.
