The Founding Story

It started with two brothers and a $2,000 loan.

Greg and Rod Horwill borrowed $2,000 from the Commercial Bank of Australia in 1973 and formally registered EGR, named from the initials of their father Edward, and brothers Greg and Rod. What began as a small Brisbane workshop producing fibreglass truck canopies is today a global business spanning two divisions and 180+ markets.

The company has remained privately owned, Brisbane-based, and guided by the Horwill family throughout its entire history. The product range has expanded. The standard has not.
